Indeed Interactive 2019
INDEED
Role: Creative Director & Art Director
Indeed Interactive is Indeed’s annual conference for talent-acquisition and hiring professionals, from C-level to small businesses and national accounts. This exciting event serves to lead and engage in conversations about topics that are top-of-mind for today’s talent professionals and inspire them to experiment with new strategies and solutions. It also aims to establish Indeed as a trusted, go-to source for thought leadership on the latest talent trends and insights. Our challenge was to bring an unbelievable stage experience for their hit list of speakers from Amy Poehler to Kevin Kwan as well as create and fully interactive and engaging learning experience throughout the event venue.
From original stage and set design to captivating backgrounds and motion graphics, I guided the team to a high impact stage experience with an extremely (…extremely…) limited color palette. To create collaboration and interactivity in the Indeed Works space, I created activations that entertained targeted audiences and while capturing the data client needed. We hired an illustrator local to Austin to create a coloring book wall centered around hiring industries and attendees flocked to it to personalize it with their company logos and information. It became a networking nucleus. The entire space, from the AR/VR experience to checkout booths, was gamified via QR codes and Attendees could visit the Equation Station to redeem points for prizes from socks to books from speaker to polaroid cameras.
The Experience

Talent
Match Master
AUGMENTED REALITY GAME
Tackling the fun of ‘The Hiring Equation’ conference theme, we developed an Augmented Reality game that emulated recruiters’ day to day successes and challenges. The game tasked attendees to complete the jobs they are assigned to everyday—through a fun, lighthearted, and eye opening experience. Using an iPad, conference goers entered a world full of avatars representing real job seekers, with real needs. The player was able to evaluate the avatars’ needs and pair them with their perfect match of a job.

The Future
World of Work
VIRTUAL REALITY EXPERIENCE
What will jobs look like in the future as current digital trends continue to evolve at an exponential pace? What will HR professionals need to think about as they navigate these coming waves of change? We created an interactive VR experience that placed attendees into three different jobs of the future. By navigating these VR environments and experiencing the issues through the eyes of the employee, participants gained a new perspective on the skills needed to be effective HR professionals of the future.

Party at Austin City Limits
As I’ve found to be true with most clients, our understanding of their business and marketing objectives deepened from working with them hand-in-hand. After all, the HR crowd thrives in over-the-top social gathering. We pulled out all the stops at Austin City Limit’s Moody Theater with three custom 360 degree photo booths (a coworker and I made every flower, tree and hand built the whole booth), festival makeup and spray tattoos booths, a live graffiti artist, secret drink walls, a donut wall and a killer 90s cover band. One of my favorite events every year—this project allowed me to think creatively and strategically execute a multi-faceted celebratory experience that wowed clients and their key stakeholders.
